GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – In a battle for the fourth seed in the upcoming WHAC Tournament, the Cornerstone women's basketball team was unable to overcome one of their worst shooting nights of the year as they fell to visiting Indiana Tech 74-52. The setback drops the Golden Eagles to 16-12 on the year and 14-7 in the WHAC. CU will conclude the regular season on Saturday with a road game at No. 9 Davenport.
Game Flow
Cornerstone got out to a fast start on Wednesday night as they scored the first six points of the game just 2:07 into the game as Jill Steenwyk (SR/Sparta, Mich.) hit a triple and Jesse Sheridan (FR/Argyle, Texas) recorded a 3-point play. That start was possibly the highlight of the night for CU as the Warriors scored 16 of the final 20 points to take a 16-10 lead after one quarter.
That lead grew to eight at halftime but then the third quarter, Indiana Tech outscored CU 22-13 to open a 17-point lead and it was too much to overcome for the Golden Eagles. CU did get to within 13 but that would be the closest as they fell 74-52.

"We are so thankful for Tanner and Jill for their last games here at Cornerstone during the regular season. They have been critical to our team's success the past four seasons." Head Coach Katie Mattera
