GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Golden Eagles will end a season opening six game home stand with a match vs. Grace Bible College on Tuesday night at 7 p.m. and Goshen College on Saturday night, also at 7 p.m. CU comes into the week on a current three game winning streak, as they get ready to hit the road for the first time next week for three straight away matches.

CU has faced NCCAA Division II opponent Grace Bible College each of the past five years and have yet to be defeated holding a 5-0-0 record. Cornerstone averages 5.6 goals against GBC in the five meetings and CU has yet to give up a goal to the Tigers.

History vs. Goshen
Cornerstone has dominated Goshen throughout the years holding a 15-1-0 all-time record vs. the Leafs. The Golden Eagles only loss vs. Goshen came in the first year of the program when CU fell 1-3 on October 9, 1997.
Scouting the Leafs
Goshen has posted a 2-3-1 record on the year, averaging just 1.0 goals per game. The Leafs share the ball well as no one player sticks out statistically. Six different Goshen players have scored on the season and four of those goals have been assisted. Natalie Thorne is the GC starting keeper and has recorded 15 saves on the year for a .789 save percentage.
Three in a Row
The Golden Eagles won two games this week with a 2-0 win over Huntington on Friday night and 3-1 win over Trinity Christian on Saturday night bringing their win streak to three consecutive victories. The Golden Eagles are now 3-0-1 on the year, as they will begin conference play next week. The last time CU won three or more games in a row came in October of 2015.
Second Half Success
In the short four game season Cornerstone has combined for eight goals on the year with seven of those coming in the second half. CU has yet to hold a lead at halftime despite being 3-0-1 on the year, and the duo of goalkeepers
Hayley Mohr and
Allison Snowden have allowed just one goal to opponents in the second half.
West named Golden Eagle Athlete of the Week
After a goal in each of the last three outings, Senior
Bria West has been named the Golden Eagle Athlete of the week. West is the only Golden Eagle with more than one goal on the year, while she also averages a team high five shots per game.
