GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Cornerstone looks to rebound from a three game losing streak as they host Lourdes and travel to Lawrence Tech this upcoming week. The Gray Wolves will come to town on Wednesday for a 5:30 p.m. game, then CU will travel to Southfield on Saturday at 1 p.m. for a matchup with the Blue Devils. Scouting The Gray Wolves
The Lourdes program, in just its sixth year, has struggled once again this season posting a 6-18, 4-12 WHAC record. Head Coach Summer Quesenberry is in her first season and is the third women's basketball head coach in Lourdes program history. LU is currently in ninth place in the WHAC, losing six of their last seven games. Individually, Lourdes is led by Junior Jesse Fidler who averages 12.0 PPG and 6.9 RPG this season.
Last Time vs. Lourdes
Cornerstone earned an overtime victory in Sylvania, Ohio last-time out, holding off the Gray Wolves second half comeback to win 81-75. The big three of the Golden Eagles all scored double-digits in the win, with
Jesse Sheridan leading the way with 27 points on 9-18 shooting from the field.

Scouting The Blue Devils
Lawrence Tech has posted a 13-10, 9-7 WHAC record this season under first year Head Coach Kylene Spiegel. LTU currently sits in a three-way tie for fourth place in the WHAC after losing four of their last five games. The Blue Devils strive off of their defense and ability to create turnovers, as they rank top 25 in the NAIA in both scoring defense per game (60.4) and turnover margin (5.1). Sophomore Nicole Buckingham has come on the scene in a big way this season averaging a team high 16.5 PPG along with 2.3 APG. Junior Hayley Walkowski is the other LTU player to average double-digits at 10.0 PPG, while averaging a team high 2.4 APG.
Last Time vs. Lawrence Tech
Cornerstone hosted Lawrence Tech just before Christmas, falling 73-61. Cornerstone held a halftime lead, but 49 second half points by the Blue Devils brought them back to earn the win.
Jesse Sheridan and
Cass Vredevoogd both scored double-digit points in the loss, as Sheridan had 24 and Vredevoogd had 13.
Career High's
Despite a pair of road losses,
Jesse Sheridan and
Cass Vredevoogd set career high's against Madonna. Sheridan tied her career high of 30 points previously set on December 7, 2016 vs. this same Crusader team. Sheridan also set a career high of 11 made field goals, going 11-20 at Siena Heights and 11-22 at Madonna. Vredevoogd set a career high with 21 points at Madonna, and tied a career high of 13 rebounds previously set on December 20, 2016 vs. Saint Francis of Indiana. Vredevoogd now has two double-doubles on the season.
Sheridan's Road to 1,000
Jesse Sheridan had yet another incredible week shooting the ball, averaging 28.0 PPG. Sheridan now has 907 career points putting her just 93 away from being the quickest Golden Eagle to 1,000.
Three in a row
Cornerstone has lost three in a row for the first time this season. CU last lost three in a row to end the 2015-16 season, falling twice to end the regular season and then a third time in the WHAC Tournament Quarterfinal.
Road Struggles
CU continues to struggle on the road this season, going just 3-8, while at home they are 7-3 on the year. Cornerstone is 40-38 all-time on the road under Head Coach
Katie Mattera.
Otten's Path to 200
Lizzy Otten played in just one game this past week due to illness and recorded four assists. Otten is now just seven away from 200 in her career as she averages a team high 3.3 APG this season.
