GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Four Golden Eagles tallied double figures to earn a 70-50 home win over Northwestern Ohio and win their seventh consecutive victory. Cornerstone is now 12-8, 7-3 WHAC as they get set to start the second half of WHAC play at Concordia on Saturday at 1 p.m.
Game Flow
Neither Cornerstone or UNOH could gain an edge in the first quarter, as CU took a 16-14 lead into the end of the period. The second period is when the Golden Eagles started to find their offense though, as they outscored the Racers 22-13 in the period ending it on a 7-0 run to take a 38-27 lead into halftime.
Jesse Sheridan led the way with 11 first half points, while
Shelby Nyboer recorded 10 points in just eight minutes of game action.
Cornerstone continued to build on their lead in the third quarter, including a 10-0 run powered by
Shaina DenBesten to bring the lead to 21 at the end of the period. CU then garnished a game high 23-point lead early in the fourth quarter, and they held on to it throughout the final 10 minutes to win 70-50 over the Racers.
