No. 19 Lawrence Tech hands Women’s Hoops 79-67 loss on senior day

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Golden Eagles hit 33 free throws for the most in recordable school history (since 2000-01), but it wasn't enough as CU fell 79-67 to No. 19 Lawrence Tech on senior day. Cornerstone ends the season on a four-game losing streak moving them to the six seed in the conference tournament. The WHAC quarterfinal will take place on Thursday at Aquinas at 7 p.m.

Game Flow
Cornerstone and Lawrence Tech traded buckets in the first few minutes, but the Blue Devils stayed hot all quarter, shooting 52.9%, using a 9-0 run to take a 23-14 lead. CU would cut the deficit to six in the second quarter, but again LTU shot well to take a 45-35 advantage into the half. The Golden Eagles did a great job getting to the free throw line in the half, shooting 19-19 from the line behind a perfect 8-8 mark from Jesse Sheridan.

The Golden Eagles would once again cut into the deficit, bringing it down to seven points half way through the third, before Lawrence Tech would once again run away with the lead. LTU would then move their advantage to as many as 17 in the fourth quarter to earn a 79-67 road victory. Jesse Sheridan (21), Cass Vredevoogd, Sydney Muller (10), and Shelby Nyboer (10) all scored in double figures, but the team went just 16-46 from the field for a 34.8% mark.
