KENTWOOD, Mich. - Cornerstone took a 2-1 advantage after doubles but the Warriors of Indiana Tech won the first four matches of singles to post a comeback win in the WHAC Tournament Quarterfinals on Friday morning. The loss ends the 2017-18 campaign for CU as well as the careers of two of the players who helped put the Golden Eagle program on the map in
Austin Hendrick and
Sam Ottosen.
Doubles Highlights - The Golden Eagles took a nice 2-1 edge with wins on Court 1 (
Austin Hendrick and
Sam Ottosen - 8-3) and Court 2 (
John Cocoma andÂ
Aliaksei Kanstantsinau - 8-6). Indiana Tech won 8-3 on Court 3.
Singles Highlights - CU dug themselves a big hole in all six matches that started at the same time as Indiana Tech took the first set on every court. A rain delay gave the Golden Eagles a chance to re-group and they came back to force a third set in two of them while the Warriors wrapped up the other four of them in straight sets.
The loss ends the season for Cornerstone at 3-9-1 overall.
