GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Golden Eagles welcomed Michigan-Dearborn to the turf on Saturday for Senior Day. Cornerstone won 5-4 in walkoff fashion in the first game and fell short 6-5 in the second game. The split gives the Golden Eagles a 13-19 overall, 8-12 WHAC record. The final WHAC standings have not been finalized yet. The WHAC Tourney matchups will be announced after all games are completed on Sunday with Cornerstone and Concordia vying for the final spot.
Game 1 –
Courtney Ducharme led off the 2nd inning with a double.
Jessica Wright brought her in with an RBI double to center field.
Alicia Ontiveros tallied an RBI in each of the 2nd and 5th innings with a sacrifice fly and a suicide squeeze bunt, respectively. Cornerstone brought a 3-0 lead into the 7th inning. The Wolverines rallied for four runs to take a 4-3 lead. With

Game 2 – Michigan-Dearborn struck first with a pair of runs in the 3rd inning.
Lexi Lieske belted a pinch hit, RBI triple in the 4th inning, and was brought in by a base hit from
Cierra Langejans to tie the game at 2-2 after four innings. With the bases loaded in the 5th inning,
Mackenzie Vallad hit a bases-clearing double to left field to give the Golden Eagles a 5-2 lead. The Wolverines fought back in the fifth inning with a solo homer and an RBI double to cut the deficit to one. A two-run home run in the top of the 7th boosted Michigan-Dearborn to a 6-5 comeback victory.
