GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Golden Eagles concluded home action with a non-conference series split with Trinity International. CU tied a season high with 12 runs in game one to win 12-0 and then were held scoreless in game two, losing 4-0. CU concludes a five game season series with Trinity International going 2-3 in those matchups. Cornerstone ends the regular season with a 9-33 overall record as they look to enter the offseason and regroup for 2020.

Cornerstone got off to a fast start as a Maddie Vassar RBI single brought home Mackenzie Vallad to make it 1-0.

A pair of doubles from Lexi Lieske and Savanna Sanchez as well as a single from Alessa Baldwin-Buchner helped CU score five more runs in the inning to lead 6-0 after the first.

Another double from Lexi Lieske in the second brought home two more runs to make it 8-0.

Lieske then singled in the fourth for her fourth RBI of the day to give CU the 9-0 lead.

A sacrifice fly and a double from Alicia Ontiveros helped Cornerstone score three more runs in the fourth to go on top 12-0.

Rachel Younts would go a 5.0 inning complete game allowing just four hits, as the Golden Eagles won in mercy rule fashion 12-0 in game one.

Both starting pitchers got off to an effective and quick start as neither team saw a run score until the fourth inning

Courtney Ducharme's lone blemish in the game came on a bases loaded hit by pitch that gave TIU the 1-0 lead. Ducharme would leave the game after 4.0 innings pitched allowing just three hits, one run (0 earned), and two walks.

Ashley Loera came in and pitched the final three innings and saw some struggles in the sixth allowing a run to score on an RBI single that made it 2-0.

An error allowed two more runs to score in the top of the sixth for Trinity International, increasing their lead to 4-0.

CU threatened a comeback in the bottom of the seventh with a pair of base hits, but TIU starter Carli Taylor would earn the complete game shutout in a 4-0 win for the Trojans.

5-6 - Junior Lexi Lieske went 5-6 on the day with four RBI and two runs scored.
