Women's soccer stretches win streak to four for Strawser's 200th win

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – It was a hard-fought match but a late goal from freshman Anna Morgan gave the Golden Eagles a 2-1 victory over Huntington University. Morgan had both goals on the night for CU with assists coming from fellow freshmen Jozlyn VanTol and Carly Joseph. In the third minute, VanTol beat her defender off the dribble and fired in a low cross, which Morgan finished confidently. The next 70 minutes were back and forth with both teams mustering only a few chances. Huntington broke through in the 80th minute when Kirstin Byrd beat the CU defense and finished smoothly. The game looked set to head to overtime when Carly Joseph won possession in the midfield and played Morgan into space. With a quick look at the keeper, she steadied herself and fired a beauty into the top left corner in the 85th minute to give CU the victory. With the win, Coach Randy Strawser now has 200 career victories as the head coach of Cornerstone Women's Soccer.
