The 2-0-0 Golden Eagles are set to continue their season with their first multi-game week as they will travel to Lawrence Tech on Tuesday and host Siena Heights on Friday for a pair of WHAC Contests. The highlight of the week will be Friday's game in which the team will be hosting a buy one give one night crazy sock night through a partnership with Friendship Sports International. Sky Outfitters socks and T-Shirts will be sold throughout the week and for every item purchased, a pair of thermal socks will be given to Mel Trotter Ministries here in Grand Rapids to support homeless in need as we head into a winter season. Athletes from both the men's and women's soccer teams will be delivering these socks to Mel Trotter at a date to be determined in November.

Last Week Recap

Laura Helder

The Golden Eagles ended a five game skid against the Concordia Cardinals in their last game 10 days ago, as sophomore Laura Helder scored an overtime winner off a deflected ball from Kylie Adams to give CU the 3-2 victory and improve to 2-0-0 on the year. Erica Mick and Kylie Adams also found the scoresheet with their first goals of the season. The Golden Eagles outshot Concordia in the game 15-12, but put one less shot on net. Mikayla Johnson, despite giving up two goals, was phenomenal in net making eight great saves with six of those being in the first half. CU struggled to stop Samantha Golchuk who scored two for Concordia in the game and has now scored the last five for the Cardinals when playing Cornerstone.

SHU most recently suffered their first loss of the season 3-2 vs. Concordia after shutting out their first two opponents with 1-0 wins vs. Indiana Tech and Lourdes. SHU has seen a lot of offensive balance in the early season with three athletes scoring the first four goals of the year. Defensively, senior goalkeeper Kara Bishop has had a great start earning two shutouts, saving 76.9% of shots on goal, and playing every minute in net.
