Cornerstone prevailed 69-66 against IU-Northwest in the season opener last Saturday. Sterling DeGayner led the way with 21 points, followed by Brooke Modderman with 12, both of which were career highs. Cornerstone went 10-for-21 from beyond the arc. Ten made three pointers is the most in a game for CU since February 15, 2014. Allyson Richards hit the go-ahead bucket with 30 seconds to go, and Layna Steele sealed the game with a steal and breakaway layup in the game’s final seconds.

Kennedy Helderop 

Bethel finished the 2019-20 season with an 8-22 overall record. Within their home stadium of Wiekamp Athletic Center, Bethel was 5-9 last year. The Pilots relied heavily on the three-pointer by averaging 32.9 attempts per game last season, making just over 10 of them per game. Current junior Kelsey Brickner led the team with 13.3 points per game last year. Head coach Doug Porter is in his 2nd year at the helm of the program.

Huntington went 21-11 last season and found themselves on the fringes of the NAIA Top 25 poll on multiple occasions. The Foresters’ roster will look different than previous seasons without Sarah Fryman, who graduated after leading the team with 23.06 points per game, which was 2nd best in NAIA-DII, along with 7.4 rebounds per game. Among returners, Alexandria Bope leads the way with 5.3 points per game and 4.6 rebounds per game last year.
