Remain Unbeaten

Cornerstone comes off their lone two match week of the 2020 fall season as the team earned a tie and a win in a pair of conference games. Last week opened with a 1-1 tie at Lawrence Tech and was followed with a 1-0 win vs. Siena Heights to help the team improve to 3-0-1 on the year and remain one of two undefeated teams left that are playing this fall within the WHAC.

Erica Mick was the difference maker this past week assisting on the lone goal in the tie at Lawrence Tech and scoring the game winner vs. Siena Heights to help CU complete the 1-0-1 week. Jozlyn VanTol also had a strong week, specifically in the game against Lawrence Tech as she was all over the field and recorded a career high 10 shots with six of those being on net.

History vs. Indiana Tech

HISTORY

The Golden Eagles hold a 23-13-2 all-time record vs. Indiana Tech with the last few contests being very even between the two sides. In the last three years alone, CU has won, lost, and tied against the Warriors in the teams three games. The Golden Eagles largest margin of victory against Indiana Tech came in 2006 with a 9-0 win. From 2003-2009 Cornerstone went a perfect 13-0-0 against IIT, allowing a total of just two goals in those 13 games to total 11 shutouts in that stretch.

Indiana Tech

Scouting the Warriors

Indiana Tech has had a rough go of things this fall posting a 1-5-0 record in their six games so far this season. The teams lone win was against Rochester who is winless in the conference so far this season. Despite the record, all five of IIT's losses have been by one goal. Individually, the team is led by Molly Ames who has three goals and an assist so far this season to lead the team with seven points. Defensively, the Warriors have had multiple keepers give it a go in net, most notably in Christina Wynn who has started five games, made 38 saves, and holds a team best .809 save percentage.

BOGO Night Recap

Cornerstone Athletics and Friendship Sports International are incredibly grateful for all those who came out to support last weekends BOGO Night events. The teams are excited for the next step as they will now get to deliver thermal socks to Mel Trotter Ministries in November based on the purchases made this past weekend. Stay tuned for more information on that!
