Women's Basketball to take on Trinity Christian

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Coming off a 21-point victory last week Monday at Grace Christian, the Golden Eagles will hit the road with a 3-3 record on Tuesday when they take on Trinity Christian in a 6:30 p.m. ET game. Through six games:
Cornerstone is averaging 70.2 points per game while allowing 81.2 points per game. Three wins so far this season already matches the team's win total from last year's 3-27 overall record.

Schedule update:
While the game against Trinity Christian remains on as scheduled, the upcoming games against Lourdes and Indiana Tech have been postponed. Stay tuned to cugoldeneagles.com regarding updates in the future. 

On the road again:
Tuesday's contest against Trinity is the sixth road game of the first seven games. The lone home game was a 75-62 loss to Huntington on October 31. 

Scouting Trinity Christian:
The Trolls are 0-1 following a season-opening 84-51 loss to St. Francis (Ill.). Summer Cramer and Jasmine Glover led the team with 15 and 12 points, respectively, in that game. Trinity Christian finished the 2019-20 campaign with an 8-22 record, with one of those wins coming against Cornerstone. 

History against Trinity Christian:
The Golden Eagles hold a 7-3 record against the Trolls since 2002. Trinity Christian has won both games in the last two seasons, including an 81-69 victory in Palos Heights in 2018 and a 72-63 win in Grand Rapids in 2019.

Allyson Richards:
The senior from Fruitport, Mich. is leading the team with 16.3 points per game. Richards has put up double digit points in each of the team's first six games. Her first double double of the season came last Monday against Grace Christian with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Richards also led the team with a 54.5 field goal percentage and 7.2 rebounds per game. 

Kennedy Helderop:
After missing almost all of last season with a leg injury, Helderop has started her season with a team-high 21 assists and 11 steals and has started every game for the Golden Eagles.

Sterling DeGayner:
DeGayner leads the team with a 44.4% three-point rate, headlined by a 5-for-7 three-point showing in the season opener. 

Layna Steele:
The transfer put up 15 and 19 points in her last two games. Along with her 19 points against Grace Christian, she also contributed five rebounds and four assists.
