GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Golden Eagles opened the conference season with a tough opponent in recieving votes UNOH and fell 4-0 on the match. CU is now 4-2, 0-1 WHAC as they lost two of three doubles matches to drop the first point and then lost three singles matches before it was called. The Golden Eagles will hit the road after spring break for more conference play as they travel to Concordia on March 14.
Doubles Results
Marissa Menichini and
Nicole VerHulst paired up for the second time this season and got a 6-4 win at the No. 2 doubles slot to remain undefeated as a pair, but it was not enough as CU fell at both No. 1 and No. 3 slots to fall behind 1-0.
Singles Results
Alayna Bowman fell 6-4, 6-2 at the top singles spot,
Nicole VerHulst fell 6-0, 6-3 at the No. 4 slot, and
Taylor Shoults fell 6-0, 6-1 in a rare appearance at No. 6 singles to give UNOH the 4-0 lead that would seal the victory. Once the win was secured the teams ended the match leaving all other singles matches unfinished.
Cornerstone will return to play after spring break as they travel to Concordia on March 14.
