HILTON HEAD, S.C. - After dealing with weather issues to end the week, Cornerstone was able to get their final match in with Warner at 7 p.m. on Thursday evening on three courts to close out their spring break trip. CU fell by a score of 5-2 in a late evening of action. CU dropped two of three doubles matches to lose the first point of the match. In singles play,
John Cocoma and
Jacob Stegman got wins at number three and six singles to give CU their two points on the day.
Doubles Highlights
Cornerstone was swept 6-0 at the number one singles spot and fell 6-4 at the number two singles spot to lose the first point. The freshman duo of
Matthew Hall and
Tanner Howard did win their doubles match 6-1 however to advance to 5-2 overall as a team.
Singles Highlights
In singles play, Cornerstone fell in two three set matches at number two and number five singles.
John Cocoma won his three set match, 2-6, 6-3, 10-1.
Jacob Stegman also won at number six singles 8-5.
Cornerstone returns home and begins conference play on March 13 against Northwestern Ohio at 6:45 p.m.
