GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -
Desiree McConnell has signed her letter of intent to run cross country and track & field at Cornerstone University making her the fourth McConnell sister to join the program. CU will now have a McConnell in every grade running on the team, a very special and unique occurrence that has never happened before in the program.
Alexis McConnell will be a senior,
Bailley McConnell will be a junior,
Cammie McConnell will be a sophomore, and
Desiree McConnell will be the freshman. The irony of it all comes in that the daughters names represent the first four letters of the alphabet and they are each a year apart in age.
Desiree joins Cornerstone from Mount Pleasant, Michigan where she ran at Sacred Heart Academy. She is an outstanding runner just like her sisters, as she earned eight all-state cross country and track & field honors over her high school career. Her team also was a three-time state champion during her career. Desiree is the daughter of Rob and Tori McConnell and will major in Social Work/Psychology during her time at Cornerstone.
Why CU?
"I chose Cornerstone for the firendly Christian atmosphere and because my three sisters are here." -
