NAIA Preseason Poll

Scouting Goshen

Goshen

Goshen is in their fifth year of sponsoring a men's volleyball program and is receiving votes in the NAIA Preseason Poll. The Maple Leafs have played one match so far this season, falling 3-2 to number two Campbellsville University out of Kentucky. Goshen has a second match scheduled with Trinity Christian on Thursday at 8 p.m. before hosting Cornerstone. In most sports, Goshen is part of the Crossroads League, but in men's volleyball they compete in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference. This game will be a non-conference affair with two more conference matchups on tap to take place later this season.

In 2020, the Maple Leafs finished fourth in the WHAC with a 3-3 record as they were 15-6 overall. Junior Alexander Rabadzhiev is the teams most outstanding attacker as he ranked eighth in the NAIA in kills last season averaging 4.13 a game as an outside hitter. He is also one of the best behind the service line, leading the team with 22 aces in the 2020 season. As a team, Goshen was one of the best defensively, ranking ninth in the NAIA with 11.06 digs per game. The team saw three players with over 130 digs on the season, led by now senior DS Michael Wahl.

The bonds I have created with my teammates in this first year have been great. These relationships have led to some of my best friends and I take a lot of pride in being able to build that relationship with my teammates.
