ADRIAN, Mich. – After a break from WHAC play on Saturday against Spring Arbor, the Golden Eagles returned to conference action on Wednesday evening to take on Siena Heights, who was selected to finish second in the WHAC preseason poll. It didn't take long for the Saints to establish their lead, which they held throughout the entirety of the game en route to an 89-55 final. The loss sets Cornerstone back to 3-7 overall, 0-2 WHAC heading into Saturday afternoon's contest against Madonna.
How it happened:
- Allyson Richards scored the team's first four points, but Siena Heights held an 11-4 lead with four minutes to play in the first quarter.
- Kennedy Helderop's bucket in the final moments of the first quarter cut the Saints' lead to 19-13 after the first frame.
- The Golden Eagles matched their first quarter total with 13 points in the second quarter. Siena Heights, however, doubled that score by putting up 26 points in the frame to take a 45-26 lead at the break.
- Freshman Maddison Fulks hit a pair of three-pointers in the third quarter, but Siena Heights; offense rolled for 30 points to extend their lead to 75-41.
- Both teams scored 14 points in the final frame as the Saints coasted to the 89-55 victory.
