GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.  – The Golden Eagle women's soccer program will be at home on Wednesday night before traveling to Cleary on Saturday afternoon for a two match WHAC week. Tomorrow will be the CU women's soccer Friendship Sports International game vs. Siena Heights at 4:30 p.m. The week then ends at Cleary on Saturday at 4 p.m. To view live video and statistic links for this week's events, visit HERE.

FSI BOGO Night
Friendship Sports international is partnering with Cornerstone athletics for Wednesday's women's soccer game for a BOGO Night. Cornerstone and Siena Heights will be wearing special gear to promote the event, while all fans in attendance are welcome to purchase shirts, socks, or hats. For every purchase of one of these items the same item will be donated to a local Grand Rapids homeless shelter to help provide hope for the homeless. Every CU team will be hosting an FSI BOGO Night throughout the year as CU will have two this week with women's volleyball on Friday.

Last Week Recap
Cornerstone split their two games last week, winning 1-0 on the road at UM-Dearborn before falling 2-1 late to Indiana Tech on Saturday. Cornerstone is 4-6-1 on the year and 2-5-0 in the WHAC with five regular season games remaining and four conference games. Cornerstone is currently eighth in the WHAC with their 2-5 conference record.

Scouting Siena Heights
The Saints have had an outstanding 2021 season, going 9-3-2 and 4-2-1 in the WHAC. The SHU defense has been one of the best in the country as opponents have scored only eight total goals against them, with four of those coming in one game. The team has 10 total shutouts which ranks third in the country this season. Senior keeper Kara Bishop is one of the best in the country, playing over 1000 minutes and allowing just 0.33 goals per game to rank eighth overall. Offensively, two players have done the heavy lifting for the Saints in Marissa Young and Sarah Ammon who have combined for 17 of the teams 32 goals. 25 of those goals have been assisted as SHU moves the ball very well.

Scouting Cleary
Cleary has had a unique 2021 year as COVID-19 and injury issues have prevented them from playing since October 6. The match against CU will be their first game in nearly a month as they sit at 0-6, 0-4 WHAC on the year. The Cougars have not scored in their six games either, losing two games by double-figures and one game 9-0. Cornerstone and Cleary have met just two times in program history, with a 4-0 win in 2018 and a 2-1 win in 2019.
