Men's Volleyball set for Siena Heights, rematch at Lourdes

The Golden Eagles will continue their season with two road WHAC contests this week, starting with Siena Heights on Wednesday night before a rematch against #4 Lourdes on Friday afternoon. Cornerstone (0-9) is seeking their first victory in program history, and is also looking to snap a streak of five straight sweeps.   • Cornerstone continues a nine-game road stretch. Following this week's matches against Siena Heights and Lourdes, the team will play six more contests away from Mol Arena.
  • Cade Meza has team-high honors with 47 kills apiece this season.
  • Max Hernandez leads the team with 153 assists,  47 digs, and 8 service aces.
  • Jacob Brinks has recorded a total of 18 blocks this season.

Scouting Siena Heights

Siena Heights has an impressive win on its resume with a 3-1 victory over #10 Indiana Tech last Friday (25-20, 31-29,15-25, 25-23). The Saints also pushed #4 Lourdes to four sets before coming up short. Senior Alex Garavalia leads the team with 68 kills (4.25 per set). Setter Keegan Crawford has recorded 166 assists (10.4 per set). Sophomore middle blocker Jakob Pickett leads the team with 17 total blocks. Siena Heights will take on Thomas More on Tuesday evening before hosting Cornerstone on Wednesday evening. 

Scouting #4 Lourdes

Lourdes

Lourdes enters the week 6-1 overall, 4-1 WHAC. Their lone loss came to fellow WHAC powerhouse Indiana Tech in 3-1 fashion on February 9. The Gray Wolves won all three Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference men's volleyball individual honors this past week as Jeff Lam was named the Attacker of the Week, Max Petuhov earned Defender of the Week, and Ian Fields won Setter of the Week. Lam has accumulated 106 kills (4.82 per set) this season, including 14 in the win against Cornerstone earlier this year. Petuhov has tallied 16 block this season, including seven last week over the Gray Wolves' two matches. Fields recorded 87 assists (10.88 per set) over the course of eight sets last week.
