Women's Soccer to take on #RV Aquinas and #11 UNOH

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The women's soccer team will continue their spring season with two big WHAC matches this week with #RV Aquinas on Wednesday evening and 11th-ranked Northwestern Ohio on Saturday afternoon. Both of this week's games will have live video and stats available at cugoldeneagles.com and at the links below. The Golden Eagles began the spring portion of their season with a 4-0 victory over Rochester last week Wednesday to improve to 4-1-1 on the season.

Cornerstone Outdoor COVID Spectator Policy
Cornerstone is allowing fans to outdoor events for both home and visitors, but will have limited bleacher seating and are requiring filling out a screening form upon arrival. CU also is asking all fans to wear masks and is encouraging bringing a chair with you due to limited seating.

Five Golden Eagles equally share the ten goals scored this season, with Laura Helder, Erica Mick, Jozlyn VanTol, Kylie Adams, and Sierah Adams each with two. VanTol leads the team with 12 shots on goal. Julie Gouilliart leads the team with two assists. The team totaled 34 shots against Rochester, which was the highest since the Golden Eagles had 43 against Grace Bible in September of 2017. 

Scouting Aquinas (6-1, 4-0 WHAC)
Aquinas is receiving votes in the most recent NAIA poll. Hannah Crum and Braeleigh Mccoy of Aquinas were named the Women's Soccer Players of the Week in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) last week. Crum repeated as Offensive Player of the Week with a goal and two assists in a pair of wins, including an upset of No. 11-ranked UNOH. Mccoy posted two shutouts and recorded five saves for Defensive Player of the Week. Crum leads the team with eight goals along with three assists through seven games this season. The Saints have scored 25 goals this season and have only surrendered three. 

Scouting UNOH (2-2, 2-2 WHAC)
Northwestern Ohio, the preseason favorite to win the conference, finds themselves at an even .500 through four games this season, most recently with back-to-back shutout losses to Concordia and Aquinas. Ariana Mondiri and Agnes Stefansdottir have each scored two goals this season. The Racers will face off against Lawrence Tech on Wednesday before making their way to Grand Rapids on Saturday.
