GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Cornerstone Women's Soccer team will close out the regular season on Monday when they travel to Madonna for a 4 p.m. contest. The Golden Eagles have had a full week off from games since suffering back-to-back losses to ranked foes with a 5-1 loss at #18 Aquinas on March 17 and a 2-0 setback to #22 Northwestern Ohio on March 20. The Golden Eagles are 1-2-1 in the four road games this season. Freshman
Amber Nicholson scored her first collegiate goal in the game against Aquinas. The Golden Eagles find themselves in fifth place in the WHAC with a 4-3-1 conference record. The eight-team WHAC Tournament is scheduled to begin on Saturday, April 3, with the top four seeds serving as hosts. After losing five straight to the Crusaders from 2013 to 2017, Cornerstone has won each of the last two matchups, with the 2019 decision coming by way of a
Kylie Adams overtime goal.
Madonna Notes
The Crusaders enter the week with a 6-3 overall, 5-2 WHAC record. The team is outscoring their opposition 19-14 this season. Four different players share team-high honors with three goals apiece. Madonna is undefeated in home games this season, winning all four such contests. The Crusaders have won six of their last seven matches, with the only loss coming in a 3-2 overtime decision against #11 Northwestern Ohio.
