GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.  – The Golden Eagle women's soccer program is set to open the 2021 season with an early morning 10:30 a.m. contest vs. Chicagolands Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) foe Saint Xavier. The home opener will mark a stretch of six straight home games to begin the 2021 year as the Golden Eagles look to build off their 6-4-1 record in 2021. Live video and stats will be available for the match and can be found at cugoldeneagles.com/watch.

2021 Roster Breakdown
Cornerstone comes into the 2021 year with a much younger roster than in 2020, as they lost nine seniors last season including their starting goalkeeper in Mikayla Johnson and standout midfielder Phoebe LaCroix. This season, Cornerstone has just five seniors on the roster seven juniors, 10 sophomores, and seven freshmen.

New Keeper
Junior Hope Steenwyk will see take over as the new Golden Eagles starting goalkeeper this season. In her short career, Steenwyk has played three games in net and has yet to allow a goal to an opponent.

Senior Striker
Kylie Adams, who currently holds the most goals of anyone in her career on the CU roster, returns for her senior season after netting four goals in each of her first three seasons. Adams led Cornerstone last season with four goals and eight points on 11 total shots. Fellow striker Jozlyn VanTol is continuing her recovery from ACL surgery last season and will not be on the field this season.

Sisters
Cornerstone adds a second pair of sisters to the roster in 2021 as Jada VanTol joins her sister Jozlyn VanTol as an incoming freshman this year. The Golden Eagles also have the sister pair of Kylie Adams and Sierah Adams who enter year two of being on the roster together.

Strawser Facts
Head Coach Randy Strawser enters his 22nd season at the helm of the Golden Eagle women's soccer program. He has recorded a record of 216-138-35 for a .582 winning percentage in his first 21 seasons. Due to his longevity in coaching, Strawser currently ranks 13th on the NAIA active coaching wins list with his 216.
