First Match vs. a Ranked Foe
Cornerstone will play their first and currently as scheduled last match against a ranked opponent in (16) Aquinas this week. The last time that Cornerstone beat a ranked opponent was vs. Taylor in September of the 2017 season.
Skylar Scholten Finding the Net
Skylar Scholten the senior midfielder scored her second goal of the year at Indiana Tech scoring multiple goals in the same season for the first time in her career. With a balanced offense, Scholten becomes just the fourth player on the 2022 roster to have multiple goals for the Golden Eagles this season.
Scouting Aquinas
Under new Head Coach James Decosemo, the Saints have not skipped a beat, with a 9-2-1, 5-0-0 WHAC record to sit as the only team in the conference to remain unbeaten. AQ has won six in a row and has yet to lose on home turf as they rank 38
th in the country with an impressive 32 goals this year. They have shutout their opponent in five of the last six games and scored a season high seven goals at Concordia. The defending WHAC Offensive Player of the Year has returned for her senior season at Aquinas as Hannah Crum is tied for the team lead with five goals to go along with two assists. AQ is balanced this year however with seven players scoring multiple goals.
Scouting UNOH
UNOH just like their men's team is heavily international with 22 of their 25 rostered players from outside the United States. The Racers have struggled in 2022 however in comparison to their normal success with a 4-6-2 record and a 2-1-2 WHAC record. Patricia Gomez Nogueras from has been the offensive standout out of Madrid, Spain with a team high five goals. Her sister Alejandra Gomez Nogeuras has been the standout defensively helping a backline that has allowed only 17 goals. Last time out, UNOH fell 2-0 vs. Aquinas for their first WHAC loss.
