Tyler Corstange earns All-WHAC Second Team and All-Newcomer Team for Men's Soccer in post season awards

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The freshman forward Tyler Corstange highlighted the 2022 Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) honors for the Golden Eagles, earning Second Team All-WHAC and All-Newcomer Team. Cornerstone senior Christian Galloway also earned second team All-WHAC while Head Coach, Steve Herdsman was named the WHAC Champions of Character Coach, Ethan Pike was the WHAC Champion of Character athlete, and eight athletes also earned WHAC All-Academic honors this season. 

Tyler Corstange - Second Team All-WHAC & WHAC All-Newcomer Team
The Gull Lake High School standout Tyler Corstange carried his goal scoring ways into his first year in a college uniform, netting 10 goals and four assists to lead the team with 24 points in 2022. His efforts earned him All-WHAC Second Team honors and WHAC All-Newcomer Team this season. Corstange is the first player to score 10 goals for CU since Isaac Grotenhuis in 2012 and he looks to continue to build off his strong freshman season in the years to come. 

Christian Galloway - Second Team All-WHAC
Fifth year senior Christian Galloway recorded a career year on the offensive end to sneak on to the Second Team All-WHAC list. This is the second consecutive year he has earned all-conference honors. Galloway scored nine goals to go along with three assists to sit just behind Tyler Corstange in total points at 21. The senior has also served as a captain on the team the last three seasons. 

Steve Herdsman - Champions of Character Coach
Head Coach Steve Herdsman was named the 2022 WHAC Champions of Character Coach as voted on by all head coaches within the conference. This award goes to the coach that best leads his team with character and integrity over the season. 

Ethan Pike - WHAC Champion of Character
Senior goalkeeper Ethan Pike was voted as the Golden Eagles athletic representative to the Champions of Character Team. This award goes to one athlete from each team that best represents the NAIA five core character traits of: respect, responsibility, integrity, sportsmanship, and servant leadership. 

WHAC All-Academic 
Cornerstone saw a strong crew of junior and senior athletes who earned WHAC All-Academic honors. This award goes to athletes who are upper classmen and hold a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher. Eight athletes from Cornerstone earned 2022 WHAC All-Academic honors as Kyle Barba, Chana Batan, Cody Bennett, Christian Galloway, Caleb Griffith, Ethan Pike, Luke Stewart, and Ajani Vaughn were all awarded.
