FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Golden Eagles got off to a quick start scoring five-straight points before Indiana Tech went on run that Cornerstone could not come back from. The #15 team in the nation's offense seemed to not miss as they shot 62% for the game as they ended up beating Cornerstone 112-74. The Golden Eagles fall to 5-5 and suffer their first loss in WHAC play falling to 5-1. Cornerstone now has a long 10-day break before their next game when they host Siena Heights on December 10.
Game Highlights:
- Maddison Fulks got the scoring started for the Golden Eagles draining a three-pointer 10 seconds into the game that was followed up by a Jaxi Long jumper to make it 5-2 early in the first quarter.
- Indiana Tech responded quickly using a two-minute 13-2 run that saw them take the lead 15-7 as Cornerstone was having trouble with turnovers.
- Olivia Kubik made a three and Stephanie Ainsworth made a jumper to make it 27-15 Indiana Tech lead late in the first quarter.
- Indiana Tech leads Cornerstone 29-18 after the first quarter.
- The Warriors have started the second quarter going on a three-minute 6-0 run to extend their lead 35-18 before Olivia Kubik made a three to make it 35-21 to end the scoreless streak.
- Cornerstone has struggled to find a basket in the second quarter as Indiana Tech has extended their lead 50-23 with three-minutes to go in the second quarter.
- Indiana Tech leads Cornerstone 56-28 at the half.
- Stephanie Ainsworth has been a spark on offense scoring the first three points for the Golden Eagles to start the third quarter.
- Maddison Fulks goes on a self 5-0 run as Indiana Techs lead is now 61-36.
- Mackenzie Stein drained a jumper and had a three-point play to help Cornerstone cut into the Indiana Tech lead.
- Kennedy Helderop beats the buzzer with a long three pointer as Indiana Tech leads 86-52 after the third quarter.
- Cornerstone has seen good offensive spurts in the fourth quarter as Olivia Kubik and Parish Hudson have both made threes to help the Golden Eagles.
