Why Blithe Memorial?
The Blithe Memorial Duals get their name from a tragic but life changing event in the family of Head Coach
Chris Williamson. On September 14, 2021, Christopher Blithe Williamson was born and taken to be with the Lord after a perfectly healthy full-term pregnancy. The tragic event has taught so many lessons that have been brought into the Golden Eagle wrestling program and Cornerstone University. Williamson and the Golden Eagle wrestling program are proud to honor the life of Christopher Blithe and use this event as an opportunity to share the love of Christ through the sport of wrestling to the community surrounding the event. For more information on the Cornerstone wrestling program and the story behind the Blithe Memorial Duals, check out the program above.
Last Time Out
Cornerstone competed in two events before Thanksgiving with their first WHAC dual vs. Lourdes and the Albion Invite. In the dual vs. Lourdes the match came down to the heavy weights after the young Golden Eagle squad scrapped their way into the match with some big upsets through the lower weight classes. CU would fall by a mere two points to drop to 0-1 in WHAC play in their first conference dual of 2022-23.
CU responded in the Albion Invite with
Trevor Marsman winning the 125 weight class and
Joe Lashuay winning the 174 weight class.
