Block Party
Cornerstone has continued to improve on the block this season ranking second, I the NAIA with 298 total block assists.
Hubert Sliwinski has led that effort with a career high eight blocks in the match against Thomas More. On the year, Sliwinski has 85 blocks. CU has three players with over 50 blocks this season, while in their first season they had just one in
Jacob Brinks with 60.
Brinks Career Week
Redshirt senior
Jacob Brinks had a career week over spring break with two double-digit kill performances with a career high 16 against Truett McConnell and then 15 against Thomas More. Brinks has only played in 19 matches this year as he replaced an injured
Cade Meza and has now started to get more minutes in the rotation. On the year, Brinks has 98 kills and is hitting .198 overall.
Scouting Aquinas
Aquinas has had a very up and down year but have been on absolute fire as of late, winning their last five matches including three wins over NAIA top 15 opponents. The Saints started the run with a four-set victory over number five Indiana Tech handing the Warriors their first loss of the year. Offensively, Aquinas is a high-risk high reward style of play as they have a lot of errors but a ton of kills as well. The senior outside duo of Joshua Boothroyd and Julian Armendano lead the team in kills as they have combined for 597 of the teams 948. As a team, Aquinas is hitting .257 while holding their opponents to .204 this year.
Scouting Trinity Christian
The Trolls have been hot of late as well winning their last four matches via sweep to hold a 15-9, 6-4 CCAC record. Trinity Christian has struggled at home, going 7-6 there but 6-1 in true road games this season. The team is a high-powered offense that gets it done at the service line as well as they rank second in the NAIA in aces with 180 and fifth in the nation in kills with 1056. Sophomore Alex Costa is the team's standout as he is second in the country with 402 kills this season to average 4.73 a set at a .338 clip.
Scouting Indiana Tech
The Warriors have lost just one match this year at the hands of Aquinas as they lead the WHAC with a 21-1, 9-1 conference record. The block is what powers the Indiana Tech team, ranking first in the NAIA with 87 total blocks. IIT is incredibly balanced this season leading to their success, with four athletes over 100 kills. Indiana Tech does not make many mistakes either as they have just 365 attack errors while their opponents have 501.
