Last Week
The Golden Eagles went 1-1 last week against Olivet and Olivet Nazarene. The women started off the week strong with a frenzy of goals against Olivet College that showcased four different Cornerstone players scoring their first career goals, winning the game 4-0. The Golden Eagles then traveled to Olivet Nazarene where they eventually lost their first game of the season 3-1, where Chloe Dood continued her great week scoring another goal.
History with Trinity International
The Golden Eagles will be playing Trinity International for the first time since October 10, 2008, where they went to Deerfield, Illinois and lost by a score of 3-0. This is also the third time that these two teams have played against one another, as they sit at 1-1 tie. Both games were at Trinity International, so this is new scenery for the Trojans as they travel to Grand Rapids to play against the Golden Eagles.
Scouting the Trojans
Trinity International has gotten off to rough start as they sit 0-2-1 as they have been held scoreless in all three games so far. Their most recent game came in a 0-0 tie against WHAC opponent Lawrence Tech, that showcased Trinity International goalie Sarah Davis having 13 saves on the game. The Trojans have six seniors under first year head coach Morgan Helms, in which all of them start and play significant minutes.
