Showcasing the Players
Ethan Walker is the only player on the men's volleyball team that is from the state of Michigan. Golden Eagles also have seven players that are from outside the United States, with
Kyi Jagorin traveling the farthest from his home country the Philippines. Kyi is new to Cornerstone's team this year transferring from Missouri Valley, playing a key role for the Golden Eagles as the libero for the 2023 season.
Dynamic Duo
The duo of
David Galanes and
Andrew Galanes are back together for the first time since their high school days back at South Elgin in Illinois. Cornerstone is looking for Andrew to make a big impact this year as the team's new opposite hitter. David is coming off a year where he led the team in kills with 351, receiving Second Team All-WHAC Honors.
Looking at the WHAC
This year the WHAC Conference has added two new affiliate members to the Men's Volleyball conference going from eight to ten. Bethel is coming in and was ranked sixth tying with Cornerstone. The other new member is St. Mary's-of-The-Woods (STM). STM come in ranking last in the preseason conference polls. The WHAC Conference is a tough one to play in as it has two teams that are ranked top 15 and one that is receiving votes. The Golden Eagles are set to start WHAC play this weekend as they travel to Southern Indiana to face off against STM.
