GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Golden Eagles faced off against the top two teams in the conference last week. Cornerstone first hosted (14) Indiana Tech and lost 66-46 and then traveled to Rochester and fought a close battle but lost 85-81. Cornerstone is now 11-11 (10-5) on the season as they host UM-Dearborn on Wednesday, February 1 and Aquinas on Saturday, February 4.

Player Spotlights
Stephanie Ainsworth has continued to build on her incredible sophomore year as she recorded a career high in points against Rochester with a 30-point 12 rebound game. She now joins her brother, Cory Ainsworth, in having a game of 30+ points and 10+ rebounds. Kennedy Helderop tallied 16 points and 6 assists against Rochester, continuing to add onto her assist total on the year.
Celebrating the Seniors
This Saturday, February 4 is Alumni weekend for women's basketball and Senior Night. The Golden Eagles will be celebrating four seniors for their times being a part of the women's basketball team. The ones being celebrated are Kennedy Helderop, Skylar Scholten, Kaycee Sluiter, and Layna Steele on their careers as a Cornerstone Golden Eagle.
Halftime Show
During halftime of the women's and men's basketball games, there will be a competition between Crawford and Babcock Halls to win pizza or pop for their entire hall. During the women's game, the halftime event will be lightning where the winner gets pop. During the men's, it will be a marshmallow stuffing contest where the winner gets pizza.
Scouting UM-Dearborn
UM-Dearborn comes into this game on a three-game losing streak and sits at 6-16 (3-11) for the season. Cornerstone won the first matchup of the season 79-52 where Stephanie Ainsworth led the way scoring 14 points. UM-Dearborn is led by Sophomore guard Siena Smith who is averaging 12.4 points and 5.8 rebounds per-game.
Scouting Aquinas
Aquinas comes into this game at 9-13 (4-10) and coming off a victory in their last game. Aquinas has struggled on the road as they are 1-6 as they look to even the series against their rival. Cornerstone won the last matchup 63-60, thanks to a late fourth quarter comeback capped by an Olivia Kubik game winning layup. The Saints are led by Seniors Mauriya Barnes and JaKarri Alven. Barnes averages 9.1 points per-game and Alven averages 8.6 points per-game.
