DES MOINES, Iowa – In most likely the toughest tournament the Golden Eagles will see all year at the Grand View Open, CU was unable to see much longevity in Iowa with three athletes making the quarterfinals and the rest falling prior to that. Once again it was
Trevor Marsman,
Thade Radosa, and
Sterling McLaughlin that would make it the farthest for the Golden Eagles all falling in the quarterfinals.
On the path to the quarterfinals, Marsman would fall to two Grand View athletes in their home gym against ranked opponents. Radosa would also fall to a ranked Grand View wrestler as well as an NCAA DI athlete in Jason Kraisser from Iowa State.
A standout additional performance came from
Joe Lashuay. Lashuay battled a nose injury that led to multiple blood time stoppages, but he was able to go 1-2 on the day with a big decision win over Scott Betterton from top ranked Grand View.
