Patrick Voloch and Kyi Jagorin
Patrick Voloch continues to put up great numbers in each game he plays as he totaled 137 assists in the three games, he played last week. Voloch has five 50+ assist games already this year to give him a total of 594 on the year, which ranks him second in the nation for assists.
Kyi Jagorin is another backbone to the success of the Golden Eagles where he is averaging 3.21 digs per-set for a total of 180 digs, which ranks him fourth in the nation for digs. Jagorin's defense leads to the offense of Voloch as the duo continues to give Cornerstone their best season yet.
Galanes Brother's
Andrew Galanes and
David Galanes continue to lead the way for the Golden Eagles in kills.
David Galanes put up video game numbers last week with kills of 17, 16, and 8 (in just one set) to help Cornerstone to a 2-1 week. David's total kills for the year is now up to 185 which puts him ninth in the nation for kills.
Andrew Galanes is right behind big brother David with 152 kills for second on the team. The brothers have been key contributors to the success of the offense.
Looking at the WHAC Opponents
Cornerstone kicks off the week against #RV Aquinas in a rematch game that they have had circled since their last matchup. Cornerstone got up to the 2-0 early lead over AQ, but they responded winning the next three sets to take the five-set victory. A game in which the Golden Eagles should have won. Now they will travel down the road to their rival, looking to steal a victory to kick off their week. The Saints are 8-7 on the year are led by Julian Armendano who leads the nation in kills with 266 through 15 games of the season. Joshua Boothroyd also has 201 kills on the season thanks to the set play of Leo-Paul Rousseau.
The Golden Eagles will stop at their first school in Indiana and take on Goshen for the final time this year. Cornerstone got the best of the Maple Leafs the first time they played one another with a 3-0 sweep thanks to a good attack game by
David Galanes. Goshen is led by Ishmail Bangura who leads their team with a total of 168 kills, 99 kills higher than the next player on their team.
Cornerstone will end their week road trip with a stop at Bethel University to take them on for the final time this year as well. The Golden Eagles snuck away with a victory when Bethel visited with a 3-2 win.
Brunno Peres led the way with a career high 21 kills while
Patrick Voloch chipped in his own career high with 59 assists. Playing on the road is always hard as Bethel has this game circled as a game they would like to win. Bethel is led by Arthur Barreto with 137 kills and Meric Akovali with 380 assists.
