GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – In the first ever appearance in the WHAC Tournament, men's volleyball made a statement win over (RV) Mount Vernon Nazarene in four sets to move onto the second round. Cornerstone found momentum early and ran with it the entire game, taking advantage of the 27 errors by the Cougars as
David Galanes led the way with 23 kills, literally half of the team's entire kills for the night as the Golden Eagles finished with a total of 46. It continues to be win or go home for the Golden Eagles as they will face off against the two-seed Lourdes on Friday, March 31 hosted by the top seed Indiana Tech Warriors starting at 7:30 p.m.

WHAC Outlook
It was a night of upsets in the first round of the WHAC Tournament for men's volleyball as five-seed Lawrence Tech upset four-seed Aquinas in four sets as six-seed Cornerstone upset three-seed Mount Vernon Nazarene in four sets. Indiana Tech won the regular season title and will host the semifinal and championship games.
Indiana Tech will take on Lawrence Tech as Cornerstone will take on Lourdes on Friday, March 31. The winner of each game will be playing in the championship game on Saturday, April 1 for a chance to make the National Tournament.
Scouting Lourdes
Lourdes has gotten the best of Cornerstone twice this season. In the first matchup of the season at Lourdes, the Gray Wolves swept the Golden Eagles in three sets. In the second matchup at Cornerstone, it seemed like a game the Golden Eagles should have won as the Gray Wolves escape with a five-set victory. It has been a successful year for Lourdes as they finished second in the conference, losing to Indiana Tech on the final day of the season for the regular season championship. Eduardo Ayala leads the way for Lourdes in kills with 324 as Jaber Badarne is right behind with 299 kills on the season. George Tsogtbaatar leads the team in assists with 520 as Sawyer Schafer leads the team in digs with 197.
