GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – After a 2-0 week with victories over Rochester and Lawrence Tech, women's basketball is back in action with two more conference games against Lawrence Tech and UNOH. Cornerstone opens the week against Lawrence Tech on Wednesday, January 17 to finish the first half of conference play. The second half of conference play opens against UNOH on Saturday, January 18 to finish off the week of games for the Golden Eagles. Cornerstone sits at 9-6 (7-3) on the season.

Cornerstone capped off an important week going 2-0 with wins over Rochester and Aquinas. Coming into the week, both teams sat just one game behind the Golden Eagles in the conference standings, but that is no longer the case. The Golden Eagles opened the week with a 68-60 win over Rochester behind Olivia Kubik's 21 points and Stephanie Ainsworth's fourth double-double of 17 points and 13 rebounds. The Golden Eagles then ended the week with a statement victory over rival Aquinas 85-70, behind the efforts of Stephanie Ainsworth, Olivia Kubik, and Maddison Fulks.
 
WHAC Standing Outlook
Coming into the last week of the first half of conference play, this where the top teams stand. Indiana Tech is currently sitting in first with an overall 10-0 record. Concordia is in second with 10-1 record. Siena Heights is in third with a 9-1 record. Cornerstone sits in fourth with a 7-3 record and has a two-game lead over the next team to round out the top four teams in the conference.
 
Scouting Lawrence Tech
Lawrence Tech comes into the matchup against the Golden Eagles with an overall record of 7-10 (5-6). The Blue Devils are coming off a 1-1 week with a victory over Madonna 76-55 and a loss to Siena Heights 71-44. Cornerstone has struggled against the Blue Devils in recent years, losing four of the last five matchups, winning the last meeting between the two 65-54 at LTU. The Blue Devils are led by Jade Faris who is averaging 10.1 points and 7.9 rebounds per-game.  
 
Scouting UNOH
UNOH comes into the matchup against the Golden Eagles with an overall record of 5-11 (1-9) as they take on Rochester to open the week. UNOH is coming off their first conference win of the season against Michigan-Dearborn 82-59. Cornerstone got the best of UNOH in the first matchup of the year 87-70 as Jaxi Long led all scorers with 24 points with Olivia Kubik right behind her with 20 points. The Racers are led by reigning WHAC Player of the Week Alysia Lawson who is averaging 21.2 points per-game on 47% shooting from the field.
