Women's Soccer faces two road matchups this week against Rochester Christian and Lourdes

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Women's Soccer continues conference play with two road matchups this week. The Golden Eagles will gear up to play Rochester Christian on Wednesday, October 2 and continue their travel with a matchup against Lourdes on Saturday, October 5 to close out their week of competitions.

Last Week Recap 

Women's Soccer is coming off a solid 2-0 week putting up eight goals throughout both matches. The Golden Eagles took down Michigan-Dearborn in their first matchup of the week with a 4-2 scoreline. Cornerstone out-shot the Wolverines 22-10 and 15-6 on goal helping them to the victory. Gracie Gortmaker assisted every goal in the match with some stellar passing and build up play with two of the goals being scored by Tori Woodwyk. The ladies then returned home for a matchup against Cleary where they saw another four goals reach the back of the net. Gracie Gortmaker led the way again in this match with a goal and assist to help the Golden Eagles to the 4-0 victory. The 2-0 week moved them to 5-2-2 on the year. 
 
Scouting Rochester Christian 
Rochester Christian comes into the matchup against the Golden Eagles with a 1-4-5 record, coming off a 1-1 draw to Lawrence Tech. The Warriors have struggled to capitalize this season with four 1-1 draw results already this season. The Warriors are led by Olivia Howes who has tallied four goals and assists on the season. Rochester Christian is also averaging 1.6 goals a game which the Golden Eagles will have to be mindful of heading into this matchup. 
 
Scouting Lourdes 
Lourdes enters the matchup against the Golden Eagles with an overall record of 6-1-1. The Gray Wolves were unbeaten until their last match against #RV UNOH losing 3-0. The Gray Wolves are led by Payton Childers who has tallied four goals on the season. Lourdes is only allowing 0.50 goals per game coming into this matchup against the Golden Eagles. Cornerstone will need to keep their offensive momentum rolling into the competition to break through the Gray Wolves strong defense.
