Women’s Basketball is poised to return as they take on two winless conference opponents this week

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Women's Basketball will be well rested after a long thanksgiving break as they gear up for two more conference games this week. The Golden Eagles kicked off their conference play before break with back-to-back victories coming against Rochester Christian and Madonna. The ladies will look to defend their undefeated WHAC record as they start out with a road matchup against Michigan-Dearborn on Wednesday, December 4 then return home for a game against Defiance on Saturday, December 7 to close out their week of play.

Last Time Out
Women's Basketball was seen last time out in a pair of conference matchups which they turned into a 2-0 week. Their first game came against Rochester Christian on the annual Pack The House event where they cruised past the Warriors 74-57. Jaxi Long and Olivia Kubik were unconscious from behind the arc as they both poured in seven three pointers in the game. Jaxi Long also capped off the night with a career high 33 points for Cornerstone. In the ladies next matchup, they took a road trip to Madonna where they won 71-59 to maintain their undefeated record in conference play. The game was highlighted by Jaylee Long who posted a career high 16 points which led the Golden Eagles to the road win. Women's Basketball moves to 3-5 (2-0) as they head into two favorable matchups this week. 
 
Scouting Michigan-Dearborn
Michigan-Dearborn comes into the matchup against the Golden Eagles with an overall record of 0-8 averaging 52.6 points per-game. The Wolverines have struggled to open their season only shooting 30% from the field and are led by Marissa Thomas who is averaging 11.9 points per-game. Michigan-Dearborn will be desperate to find their first victory of the season in this matchup against the Golden Eagles. 

Scouting Defiance
Defiance comes into the matchup against the Golden Eagles with an overall record of 0-7 averaging 52.6 points per-game. The Yellow Jackets are led by Chandler Duncan who is averaging 12.0 points per-game. Defiance has struggled early this season and their matchup with the Golden Eagles will likely provide more of the same struggles.
