GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Women's Basketball is back in action looking to build off their 2-0 week. Cornerstone opens on the road at Lourdes on Wednesday, February 7 for a 7:30 p.m. tipoff time. They will then return home to finish the week as they host #RV Siena Heights on Saturday, February 10 for alumni and youth day with poster signings to follow. The Golden Eagles are currently 12-9 (10-6) for the season.

Last Week Recap
It was a successful week for the Golden Eagles last week as they got two important victories. Women's Basketball opened their week with a 69-48 victory over Michigan-Dearborn behind the efforts of
Stephanie Ainsworth's 15 and
Olivia Kubik's 13 points. Cornerstone then returned home to face off against the second ranked team in the conference in Concordia and came out with a huge 72-67 victory. Freshman
Gracie Gortmaker led the way with a career high 20 points on 7-9 shooting for the Golden Eagles to cap off a 2-0 week.
Alumni/Youth Day
This Saturday, February 10 is alumni and youth day at Cornerstone. The basketball teams are welcoming all alumni as well as kids who participated in summer camps to come to Cornerstone to cheer on the Golden Eagles as they take on Siena Heights. After the end of each game, the men's and women's team will sign posters for the first 100 kids and students who are at the games. Come and get a signed poster from the men's and women's team on Saturday!
Scouting Lourdes
Lourdes come's into the matchup against the Golden Eagles with an overall record of 7-14 (5-11), losing their last two games. The Gray Wolves have won three of their last 10 games with all of those wins coming at home. The Golden Eagles got the best of Lourdes in their first matchup, winning 75-62 behind
Jaxi Long's 19 points while three others scored in double figures. Lourdes is averaging 67.7 points per-game while shooting 39.2% from the field and is being led by Emma Pedroza who is averaging 11.9 points per-game.
Scouting #RV Siena Heights
Siena Heights comes into the week against the Golden Eagles with an overall record of 19-3 (14-2) before taking on UNOH to open their week. Siena Heights was on an 18-game win streak before it was snapped at the hands of Indiana Tech as they look to start a new winning streak. The Saints got the best of the Golden Eagles in their first matchup, winning 78-58 as Cornerstone shot 36.4% for the game.
Stephanie Ainsworth and
Maddison Fulks both had 15 for Cornerstone. Siena Heights is averaging 69.7 points per-game while shooting 40.9% from the field and is being led by Kayla Hinton's 13.8 points per-game.
