Men's Volleyball hits the road for three key WHAC contests

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Men's Volleyball is back in action with a very important three game week. Cornerstone opens the week facing off against Lawrence Tech on Tuesday, March 26 and end the week traveling to Indiana Tech on Friday, March 29 and Lourdes on Saturday, March 30. The Golden Eagles are currently tied for second in the conference with an overall record of 13-2 (9-2), facing off against the other top three teams in the conference.

Last Week Recap
Cornerstone last week returned to Mol Arena for two matches, one against Goshen and Bethel. The Golden Eagles opened the week with a 3-0 sweep over Goshen in a quick match. They would then finish the week escaping in five sets against Bethel. Ernest Broaster led the way with 19 kills, nine of them coming in the final set. Those two wins improved Cornerstone to 13-2 (9-2) on the year.
 
Scouting Lawrence Tech
Lawrence Tech comes into the matchup against the Golden Eagles with an overall record of 15-3 (8-2) on the year. Cornerstone got the best of Lawrence Tech in the first match, winning 3-0 behind Ernest Broaster's 19 kills. The Blue Devils have won their last four matches by sweeps as they are red hot facing off against Cornerstone. Lawrence Tech is led by Brendon Down who has 201 kills on the season with their lead setter being Nathaniel Brownlee who has 578 assists on the year.
 
Scouting Indiana Tech
Indiana Tech comes into the matchup against the Golden Eagles with an overall record of 17-4 (8-3) with a matchup against Bethel before Cornerstone. The Warriors got the best of Cornerstone in the first matchup of the year, winning 3-1 in the Mol Arena. It was the first loss of the year for Cornerstone. The Warriors are coming off a loss against Mount Vernon, falling in five-sets at their place over the weekend. Indiana Tech is led by Daynte Stewart who has 210 kills on the year. Brandon Jones is their main setter as he has 478 assists on the year.
 
Scouting Lourdes
Lourdes comes into the matchup against the Golden Eagles with an overall record of 11-7 (11-1) on the year with matches against Saint Xavier and Aquinas. The Gray Wolves have won their last 10 games of the year after a slow 0-6 start. Lourdes beat the Golden Eagles in the first matchup of the year, winning 3-2 in five sets at Cornerstone. They are led by Eduardo Ayala who has 276 kills on the year while Joey Bianco has 633 assists on the year.
