5-1 win over Roosevelt highlights second straight split in Florida

MELBOURNE, Fla. - A fast start to Monday's play helped Cornerstone post another split on Day 2 of the Space Coast Games in Florida. CU picked up a 5-1 win over Roosevelt before falling to Keiser in the nightcap 7-1. • After a scoreless first inning, Cornerstone got on the board with a pair of runs in the bottom of the second as a Dylan Holmes single brought home Anna Griffioen and Mackenzie Nagelhout
  • The Lakers cut the margin in half with a run in the top of the third but CU got it right back
  • Back to back singles to lead off the third, followed by a bases clearing triple from Jolie Groeneveld put the Golden Eagles up 4-1
  • Cornerstone would add to its lead in the bottom of the 5th inning after Moriah Sprague reached on an error and she was brought home on a Sam Timmer RBI single
  • Alyssa Braam came on in relief of Allie Lubben as the two combined for four strikeouts while only allowing four hits and one earned run
