Last Week Recap
Women's Basketball was on the road last week going 1-1 against two conference opponents. The ladies first matchup came against Lawrence Tech where they came away with a strong 63-51 victory. The Golden Eagles defense played a large role in the win as they held the Blue Devils to 26.2% shooting from the field.
Mackenzie Goodwin led the way for the Golden Eagles with 22 points and 8 rebounds in the victory. Cornerstone then took a trip to Siena Heights where they could not find a grip in the game and fell 70-61. The Golden Eagles started slow in this contest but bounced back well after the halftime prep but it proved to be too far out of reach for the ladies. These results bring the Golden Eagles to a 8-9 (7-2) record on the year.
Scouting Concordia
Concordia comes into the matchup against the Golden Eagles with an overall record of 6-9 (5-4) averaging 66.4 points per-game. The Cardinals are led by Abby Long who is averaging 14.7 points per-game and has posted multiple 30-point performances this season which will pose a threat for the Golden Eagles defense heading into this matchup. Concordia has pulled off some strong wins this season against #RV UNOH and Rochester Christian which shows what this team is capable of on their trip to Mol Arena.
Scouting UNOH
UNOH comes into the matchup against the Golden Eagles with an overall record of 13-5 (6-4) averaging 81.7 points per-game. The Racers have been tabbed as receiving votes for the majority of the season and it shows with their capability to put up points fast. UNOH is led by Alysia Lawson who is averaging 25.1 points per-game and has posted a 39-point performance already this season. The Racers are coming off a victory over Lourdes but were beaten in four straight games before that matchup. Their recent form could pose to be an issue as they take on the Golden Eagles on the road this weekend.
