Last Week Recap
Women's Basketball finished last week 2-0 as the ladies added their third consecutive win in a row. In the first matchup the Golden Eagles took on Rochester Christian where they saw double overtime for the second time this season. The ladies hung on for an 81-78 victory thanks clutch buckets down the stretch. Mackenzie Goodwin led the scoring with 18 points as Jaxi Long was right behind her with 17 of her own. Olivia Kubik also chipped in 15 points including clutch baskets in the double overtime to secure the victory. 
 
In the second matchup of the week the Golden Eagles hosted Madonna where they controlled the game from the start and came away with a 67-62 win. Cornerstone celebrated Senior Night with strong performances from Olivia Kubik who tallied 15 points and Stephanie Ainsworth who scored 11. Cornerstone also saw Mackenzie Goodwin score 9 points and haul in 10 rebounds. Jaxi Long also did her thing as she led with 19 points for the Golden Eagles to secure the win. 
 
Scouting Defiance 
Defiance comes into the matchup against the Golden Eagles with an overall record of 3-19 (1-14) on the season. The Yellow Jackets will meet Cornerstone on a seven-game losing streak as they look to turn their season around quick. Earlier this season Cornerstone took on Defiance where it was far from a contest as the Golden Eagles dominated 84-49. The Yellow Jackets will need to bring everything they have if they have any chance at slowing down a rolling Cornerstone offense.
