Trevor Marsman will conclude his illustrious career on Saturday morning as he has earned All-American honors for the third consecutive year while
Thade Radosa saw his four-year career come to a close with a pair of losses on Friday at the NAIA National Tournament. Both seniors help put the Golden Eagle wrestling program on the map nationally and represented CU very well throughout their careers.
125 - Trevor Marsman
- Lost to #7 seed Allen Calderon (Indiana Tech) - 9-2 Decision
- An early takedown from Calderon gave the #7 seed a 3-0 lead and then Marsman got on the scoreboard with an escape with just over a minute left in the firstÂ
- The second period saw no points scored but Marsman controlled most of the time
- Calderon got a quick takedown to start the second period to take a big 6-1 lead only to see Marsman escape to make it 6-2 and then another takedown by Calderon brought us to the final score of 9-2
- Defeated Jamarcus Smith (Cleary) - 13-0 Major
- Late in the first period, Trevor was able to get a takedown and that momentum carried into the second where he immediately started down and got an escape and takedown to build a 7-0 lead after two. Marsman then dominated the third period to earn his third straight All-American honors with the 13-0 major
- Lost to #11 Brody Gee (St. Mary's) - 7-4 Decision
- Gee struck early with a takedown and held that advantage by staying on top the entire first period to build a big ride time advantage. Marsman came back strong with a takedown with one second on the clock in the second period to make it 3-3 after two.Â
- Midway through the third, Gee got on top 6-3 with a takedown and despite a late escape, Trevor was unable to get the takedown to pull even with the ride time point added at the end.
- Trevor will wrestle in the 7th place match on Saturday morning to conclude his career as a three-time NAIA All-American.
157 - Thade Radosa
- Lost to #4 seed Aden Graves (Providence) - 4-2 Decision
- No score after the first period but then Graves had an early escape and then a take down to start the second to go up 4-0. Radosa quickly escaped to make it 4-1 and another escape to start the third made it 4-2. Radosa did everything he could for one final takedown but was unable to, falling 4-2.
- Lost to #7 seed Steven Villalobos (Life) - 20-6 Major
- In an exciting opening period, Thade fell behind 3-0 about 45 seconds in with a takedown by Villalobos but then Thade escaped shortly after and got his own takedown with just over a minute remaining in the first to take a 4-3 lead. Villalobos escaped and then got his own takedown to take a 7-4 lead after one period. An early escape upped the lead to 8-4 and then it grew to 11-4 with 40 seconds remaining in the second. Thade would eventually fall as the time expired 20-6.
