Women's Basketball Prepares for First Roadtrip of 2026

Last Week Recap
Women's Basketball finished off 2025 playing in the Rio Grande Classic and unfortunately went 0-2 with losses to Rio Grande and Coastal Georgia. Despite the losses, Julie Ashbaugh scored a career high 30 points against Coastal Georgia and Jaxi Long dropped 27 points against the Mariners. The Golden Eagles opened 2026 with a 71-54 win over University of Northwestern Ohio. Jaxi Long and Julie Ashbaugh continued to produce as they both recorded double doubles in the victory. 


Scouting Michigan-Dearborn
Michigan-Dearborn is 4-10 on the season and 2-6 in WHAC play. The Wolverines are averaging 62.6 points per game while giving up 70.9 points to their opponents per game. UMD is shooting 39.6 % from the field and 27.8% from three. Marissa Thomas leads the Wolverines averaging 15.9 points per game shooting 41.7% from the field. 

Scouting Indiana Tech
Indiana Tech is ranked #22 in the latest NAIA Top 25 poll with a 10-4 record on the season and 7-1 in WHAC play. The Warriors are averaging 74.9 points per game while holding their opponents to 52.9 per game. ITU is shooting 45.8 % from the field and 32.8% from three. Taylor Covington leads ITU averaging 17.9 points per game shooting 42.1% from the field.
