Southfield, Mich. – The Golden Eagles headed to the east side for a WHAC faceoff against Lawrence Tech. The Blue Devils started leveling on the pressure in the first half and found a breakthrough in the 45th minute of play, as they went up 1-0 just before halftime. Cornerstone had a key opportunity in the 66th minute, as Mady Teffner's shot was saved by the Blue Devils. Lawrence Tech followed it up with their second goal in the 70th minute, as they would ultimately take the win in their home stadium 2-0 over Cornerstone.
Women's Soccer will continue on the road with another WHAC contest against Defiance College. The match will take place on October 10 at 1 p.m. in Defiance, Ohio.

First Half:

The Blue Devils began the match hot on the offense, as a shot in the 25th minute was blocked by the Golden Eagles' defense that kept the score level.

Brooke Harmsen got a shot on goal in the 27th minute that was saved by the goalkeeper, as the match remained even.

Corinne McGlassion made a save in the 43rd minute as time wound down in the first half, the score remained 0-0.

With only seconds left in the half, the Blue Devils won a corner kick that saw its way into the back of the net to give the home side the lead going into halftime 1-0.
Second Half:

The 63rd minute of play saw Corinne McGlassion make another key save, as the match remained 1-0 in favor of the home team.

Mady Teffner got her shot off in the 66th minute, but was denied by the goalkeeper.

The 70th minute saw a cross headed into the box that was difficult for the defense of Cornerstone to handle, as a Blue Devil got on the end of it and slotted it away for the second goal of the night for Lawrence Tech who led 2-0 late in the contest.

As the Golden Eagles trailed, Mady Teffner got another shot on goal, but once again the Blue Devils were able to keep it out. They remained up 2-0.

Cornerstone kept the pressure up till the final seconds, but shots from Jada VanNoord and Mady Teffner were both saved in the 90th minute of play.

The Blue Devils held strong at home with a 2-0 win over Cornerstone.
