Hunt comes to Cornerstone as a familiar name, as Mark's son Austin Hunt is a 2016 alum of the Cornerstone men's tennis program and now coaches at Hope College. Mark and his family have recently moved from their longtime home in Odessa, Texas where Hunt was a very successful high school tennis coach.Â
Mark enters into his second season at Cornerstone with an overall record of 11-7.Â

After starting his tennis coaching career in 1998, Hunt has received a multitude of accolades at the high school level, including the 2018 Texas High School Coach of the Year, three Texas High School State Championships, and a multitude of Conference and Regional Championships. Hunt has also been a certified tennis professional since 2001 with the United States Professional Tennis Registry.

Since moving to West Michigan, Hunt has assisted his son Austin at Hope College and helped the women's team to a MIAA Championship and a berth to the NCAA DIII National Tournament in 2023 and helped lead the men's team to a MIAA Conference Finalist position in 2023. He also has served as a Tennis Professional and Clinician at the DeWitt Tennis Center in Holland, Michigan.
Mark is married to his high school sweetheart since 1991 in Melissa, and as previously mentioned they have three sons Austin, Alex, and Aaron. Hunt is also a proud grandparent to his "spoiled" granddaughter Joanna and grandson Johnny.
