Golden Eagles drop 3rd OT game of the season

Box Score

The men's soccer team went back into action today on a rainy night.  Cornerstone (0-3) with two losses in OT so far this season took on (5-0) Spring Arbor.  The teams battled back and forth for most of the game but most of the game was played between the penalty boxes and neither team created a lot of good scoring chances.  Both teams end the game with 8 shots each.  Spring Arbor did have 3 shot on goal to Cornerstone's 1 in regulation.  The Cougars had a 7-2 advantage on Corner Kicks in the game.  Spring Arbor won the game with 5:44 into the 1st OT on a ball that was played into the box and didn't get cleared out. Michael Caccavo was in the right place at the right time to finish a deflected ball into the Golden Eagles net.  Cornerstone has now lost 3 heartbreakers in OT this season.  Cornerstone will return to action this Saturday when they travel to South Bend to take on Holy Cross (Ind.)
