Cornerstone loses 3-2 at Holy Cross (Ind.)

The men's soccer team returned to action today in South Bend, Ind. against Holy Cross College.  The Saints got on the scoreboard first in the 29th minute of play to go up 1-0.  Cornerstone responded in the 42nd minute on an unassisted goal by Sophomore Gareth Flynn to tie the game at 1-1 just before the half.  The Saints outshot the Golden Eagles 12-7 in the first half of play.  Holy Cross recaptured the lead in the 57th minute and went up 3-1 in the 69th minute of play on a free kick.  Cornerstone made a game of it in the 87th minute on a free kick by Kevin Nimmo for his first goal of the season.  The Golden Eagles couldn't come up with another and lost 3-2.  The Golden Eagles drop to 0-5 on the season with all the games being 1 goal losses and three of them coming in overtime.  Cornerstone will return to action on Wednesday when they host St. Xavier (Ill.) at 7:00 p.m.
