Northwestern defeats Golden Eagles 3-2 in OT

The men's soccer team returned to action in Iowa today and they lost a heartbreaker to Northwestern by giving up a goal just .12 seconds into the first overtime.  The Red Raiders opened the scoring in the 10th minute of play to take a 1-0 lead.  Freshman Casey Zimmerman scored his first goal of his career in the 31st minute on an unassisted goal to tie the game at 1-1.  The two teams traded Penalty Kick goals in the 36th and 37th minutes for a 2-2 game.  Tristan Esprit scored the penalty for the Golden Eagles.  The game remained tied through the remainder of the game and went to overtime where the Red Raiders wasted little time and scored at 9:48 on the clock for the 3-2 win.  Cornerstone drops to 0-3 on the season.  The Golden Eagles will return to action on Wednesday when they play their first home game of the season against Spring Arbor at 7:00 p.m.
