Strong defense leads to 80-46 win over Concordia

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – After dropping the first meeting on the road just over a month ago, the No. 7 ranked men's basketball team came back home and ran away with an 80-46 over Concordia University. The victory, which is the seventh straight overall for the Golden Eagles, lifts them to 16-4 on the year and 10-2 in league play. CU will hit the road for their next three games beginning next Wednesday at UM-Dearborn at 7:30 p.m.

Game Flow

From the opening tip to the closing buzzer, it was all Cornerstone as they avenged one of their league losses with a dominating performance. CU scored 21 of the game's first 30 points and eventually had a 16-point lead (32-16) at the break. The lead was a 33-point swing from the 17-point halftime deficit that CUAA had on the Golden Eagles down in Ann Arbor

As the second half started, the lead just continued to grow for CU and after back to back three-pointers by Ben Lanning (JR/Grandville, Mich.) and Travis Well with just under nine minutes to play to put the Golden Eagles up by 34 (56-32). Head coach Kim Elders then cleared off the bench and CU cruised to the 36-point win.
